BR 3-24-14

This article is about how 59 people died in Africa. They died to a disease called Ebola. The symptoms are vomiting diarrhea and fever. It was observed last month by a health administrator and is trying to be fixed. That is what the article is about and how it is a bad disease.

3 Cases

1. Santa Fe Independent School Dist. Vs. Doe- a case heard before the United States Supreme Court. It ruled that a policy permitting student-led, student-initiated prayer at high school football games. He violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. Oral arguments were heard March 29, 2000. The court announced its decision on June 19, holding the policy unconstitutional in a 6–3 decision. The Court held that the policy allowing the student led prayer at the football games was unconstitutional.2. Van Orden Vs. Perry- a united states supreme court case involving whether a display of the ten commandments on a monument given to the government at the Texas State capitol in Austin violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. In a suit brought by Thomas Van Orden of Austin, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled in November 2003 that the displays were constitutional, on the grounds that the monument conveyed both a religious and secular message.3. Clark vs. Martinez-  United States Supreme Court case about the detention of inadmissible immigrants during the deportation process. The case attempted to resolve the conflicting rulings made by the 9th and 11th circuits on whether Zadvydas v. Davis (2001) was applicable to inadmissible immigrants, Sergio Martinez and Daniel Benitez. The cases of Martinez and Benitez were later consolidated by the Supreme Court.

Two things about each floor

1. Ground Floor- Filing room has all the files of the cases waiting to be heard. Press room- Its where the Justices come to talk to the press.

2. 1st Floor- Courtroom is where all of the cases take place and where fates are decided. Great Hall- It is used as a memorial service for justices who have died.

3. 2nd Floor- John Marshall dining room is a private room in which justices come to discuss.  Justices dining room is where the justices come to eat.

4. 3rd Floor- Sc library is where the volumes are all included. It is for the supreme court bar and the justices.
